Battling cancer since primary school hasn’t defeated Freya Richardson.
Freya has had to constantly balance academic life with her illness, including enduring major surgery on her jaw.
But she hasn’t let it stop her from aiming high, and her hard work while at St. John’s Sixth Form College, in Bishop Auckland, has resulted in success in A-level Art – Grade C, BTEC Business - Merit, and BTEC Health and Social Care - Distinction.
Freya would like to own her own bakery in the future, but, in the meantime, she has secured an apprenticeship in Business Administration with Irwin Mitchell Law Firm in Newcastle.
Matt Dunn, Head of Sixth Form at St. John’s, which is part of Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust, said: “Freya is well-liked and has tackled each day with a buoyancy and joy.”
Freya added: “St. John’s has helped me achieve many things in my life and helped me make new friends along the way.”
